What is frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder is a condition when you are not able to move your shoulder in any direction and the rotation is also very restricted. Till today medical science has not found the right solution to this problem. In this condition, people experience pain and stiffness which gradually develops, gets worse and then finally goes away. This whole process may take anywhere between 1 to 3 years to get better.

When we understand our shoulder construction, we will see that it is made up of three bones that form a ball-and-socket joint. They are upper arm, shoulder blade and the collarbone. Apart from this, there are tissues surrounding the shoulder joint, holding everything together. This is the shoulder capsule.
